The Finals

Since 2009, The Mid-America Mane Event Horse Show has hosted the prestigious Good Hands Finals. For the past three years, Good Hands has been the largest of the saddle seat Triple Crown finals, with entries increased by 78 percent. The Good Hands Finals originated at the National Horse Show at Madison Square Garden in New York City in 1929,  subsequently moving to the Meadowlands in New Jersey, the Pennsylvania National in Harrisburg, PA and then to Mane Event Horse  Show in Springfield, Illinois.

Again this year, we are pleased to present the Good Hands Adult Finals! The Hands Adult Finals is for amateur riders on any suitable horse who have qualified by showing in one adult saddle seat equitation class during the current year. (Include name of show where rider qualified on entry blank.) All riders will do rail work followed by individual workouts of judges’ selection and the class will be tied. This class will occur Friday afternoon.

This years informational session will be held Thursday, October 15th, immediately following the final class of the afternoon classes.  All trainers and exhibitors are welcome and encouraged to attend!

The Illinois State Fairgrounds facilities are totally “horse-friendly” and widely  recognized as the country’s best show facilities. It is the goal of The Good Hands Finals committee to make the finals a remarkable and memorable experience for every rider. The committee includes Sharon Gardner,  Jessica Moctezuma-De Hart, Megan Dragich, Connie MacQueen, Jackie Erdman-Lopez and Lindsay Shearman
